Welcome
Hello and welcome to my site. I guess this is where I'm supposed to tell you all the nifty
parts that you can check out, but, eh, we'll get to that soon enough. There's also the
"why are you doing this" question to answer and that one's easy - self aggrandizement.
Isn't that the entire purpose of the internet? o.o? No? Oh, well, in that case ...
Um, why am I doing this?
Well, on one hand, it's a lot easier to tell someone, "Go to my site, read my books
in progress -
Red Mage Rising and
Bright Born
- and then tell me I never stick with
anything!" ... or, yeah, there's the
poetry
, too. If you never inflict your poems
on the masses, you've never written crappy poetry - after all, authors don't get
to decide what's crappy or not. That's what critics are for. And, I have lots of
"how things could be better"
ideas
and rants
about the idiocies in our society,
ah, sorry, criticisms of the current status quo (and the quid pro quo and a few
other fancy latin terms).
Then, well, at some point, I hope to get my fun little side project up and running
- I'm not going to unveil that until I'm further along (as in it might just get
done this decade!). And there's learning ASP.NET - it looks like it could be useful.
PHP is fine and dandy, but, I gotta admit, I'm a Windows(r) girl. Trying to learn
PHP in a Windows environment is like asking for a user manual for the GIMP. It's
so smothered with Linux enthusiasts that I actually don't feel like the geek of
the week on the PHP help forums (and, yes, you are a geek if you think Linux is
easier to use than Windows or even - ick - Mac's proprietary OS).
Not only that, but having my
links page
in an easy to get at place means I can squander
lots of time checking back on other people's nifty pages - or, again, it makes it
easier to share with other folks.
And when I get the "Shay's Recipies" portion up and running, well, that also means
an easier time sharing one of my favorite past times.
So I guess we've gone over the nifty parts to check out - my Opinions, Stories,
Poems, and Links. So, go on, have fun now!
