The Gods of Man

It came to pass that the creature which had so amused Thira Wind Rider, Man, grew beyond the bounds of the Master of the Hunt and the Dark Steed. They sought answers to questions the Lords of Beasts and the Lady of Grains could not answer, so turning back to the Bright Gods for guidance.

Again, it was Berrin who called the Siblings to Council. He, frothing, demanded that the First Child cease gifting souls to the forms of Man. The Dark Goddess denied Him, stating that none but She had sovereignty within Her Domain of Souls just as none but Berrin had sovereignty within the Domain of Fire and Passion, and that such a demand was futile anyhow. She repeated Her offer to gift Her Siblings with children of Their Divine Essence.

Levin, in His deliberate way, asked why Berrin’s demand was futile. Illyana explained that the souls drawn to Man form were the most inquisitive. Even should the Man form cease to be, those souls would merely look to another form that offered such opportunity to learn.

Among the Siblings, Berrin and Temos held on to Their temper, though Berrin allowed a child of His Essence to be born. With Him, the Wind Rider, the Lord of Mass, and the Wave Walker decided to accept Their Sister’s offer.

Of the Wind Rider’s Essence was born Delius, God of Lore. To Cybel was born Hadri, God of Law and Ethic. From Levin came Yemira, Goddess of Craft and Puzzels. From the Raging Berrin came Laughing Gyrra, Goddess of Love and Joy.

Now the Third Born went out among Men and guided them in their inquiries to find their own answers. And the tumult of questions became as a quiet whisper to the First Children.
